The ESA is currently in need of a VP for Social Programming! Love organizing events? Passionate about curating new experiences? Here’s your chance to join the ESA’s Exec Team!

Duties expected:

• Propose and plan social events and programming
• Consult with Treasurer regarding event budgets
• Consult with VP Academic Programming to ensure a balanced event and programming schedule
• Liaise with department contacts for the purposes of event promotion
• Communicate with other clubs for the purposes of event planning
• Assist the President in overseeing regular club operations

The Colloquium is back again this year! One of our most anticipated academic events of the year, the Colloquium has been a longstanding tradition with the ESA. Students are invited to submit academic papers they would like to present, and if selected, will be invited to give a short lecture on their topic. The conference will be open to public and will take place in MONTH.

All students are encouraged to apply as authors and as editors, and are not required to hold ESA membership. Formal papers written for English classes are gladly considered, but other papers may be accepted too. Each year we receive quite a large pool of applicants, so we encourage students to start their application early! The application period will end January 15th, 2025 at 11:59 pm. and selected student writers and editors will be informed by email around DATE.

A new event that will focus on providing tips, techniques, and ………

Are you looking for a position with more commitment? Interested in the behind-the-scenes action of running a blog? Love media design? Desperately need volunteer hours or just really bored? We have just the thing for you!

The ESA would love two student administrators for the blog, who will hold full responsibilities and privileges of staff status. Duties will include:

• editing member & guest writers’ work for the blog
• creating visually stunning posts!
• attending all-staff meetings approx. once a month
• creating promotional material for other club events
• pitching interesting topics for our writers
• writing your own pieces!

We expect that this will be a commitment of approximately 3-5 hours a week, with potentially more hours at peak times such as during short story competitions. Please be advised that only members of the ESA may apply.
